Personal Statement

My name is Michelle Um, and I am a Seattle Promise Retention Specialist at Seattle Central College. I support Seattle Promise students with degree planning, connecting with resources, and achieving academic success. Through individualized academic advising, I help students navigate educational opportunities and attain their personal and professional goals.

I earned my associate’s degree from Bellevue College as a Running Start student and my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from the University of Washington as an undergraduate student. Prior to joining Seattle Promise, I worked in various student support positions at Roosevelt High School, University of Washington, and Seattle University. I look forward to continuing my work of fostering student resilience.
