BIO: Hello! My name is Mia, and I am a Seattle Promise Retention Specialist at North Seattle College. I assist Seattle Promise students beginning in the spring of their senior year in high school throughout the subsequent two years of the student’s educational journey at North. I have been in this role since October 2020.

As a Retention Specialist I serve as the students’ academic advisor and wrap around support specialist. I help students choose courses, create and review educational plans, and discuss academic concerns. I provide guidance on how to navigate the overall college experience and provide support in finding solutions to a variety of barriers that arise for students pursuing higher education.

Prior to working with Seattle Promise, I worked at an alternative high school in Colorado, supported students at Chief Sealth Intl' HS to graduate, and managed an out-of-school social justice and leadership program for high school students from across Seattle.
