We'll close our spring quarter with a visit to Tina Miller's classroom, looking quite comfy.
Just so you're not fooled, you need to see the view from her window.
Yes, Tina has a cozy spot directly next to a construction site. Hopefully it won't take too long! For now, if she has to Zoom, she gathers up her things and heads to an upstairs bedroom to lessen the noise.
Fall Schedule
The first draft of the fall schedule can be found here.
Enrolling Students for Summer
Please enroll your students for summer quarter as soon as possible. Again, only a few faculty have not done this, but it's preventing us from finalizing things. Directions on how to enroll your students can be found here.
Summer Syllabus
As a reminder, your summer syllabus must include language about how you will record attendance during remote operations. You can choose from the Teacher Verification Model or the Learner Mastery Model. Guidance from the SBCTC can be found here. The SBCTC also recently provided this updated Q&A document.
Summer Division Meeting
Summer classes begin on Monday, June 29. Since all instruction is remote learning, you are asked to meet with your students on that day and to begin to work with them to set your schedule. Classes are expected to include some "virtual" instruction, meaning synchronous learning at a set morning or evening time.
I will also schedule division meeting during the afternoon on the first week. I will pay faculty at the stipend rate for attending. Topics will include:
- SBCTC attendance reporting
- How to collect WABERS+ forms
- Tuition waivers
- Options for conducting student evaluations
Packets
As with spring, mailing packets will be an option for summer (and for fall as well).
Thank you!
Have a great break.
