Personal Statement
Glenda Graham-Walton is a senior-level Certified Human Resources Professional with extensive experience in Organizational and Employee Development, Adult Education, and Training. Her career spans leadership roles across public, private, and non-profit sectors, including over 30 years with the City of Seattle, where she served as a Manager, Strategic Advisor, Executive Director, and Consultant. She is also an accomplished business and leadership development coach, consultant, and practitioner.
Glenda has designed, taught, and facilitated a wide range of courses in business, leadership, professional development, diversity and inclusion, and communication for both corporate and academic audiences. She has provided certification training in instructional design and course development, and her work has earned recognition at the local, regional, and national levels.
Early in her career, Glenda began teaching part-time in South Seattle College’s Supervision and Management Program while simultaneously working in Human Resources for the City of Seattle. She also held roles as an Instructional Designer and Organizational Development Consultant. Currently, she teaches business and leadership courses, serves on South's Assessment Committee, and is deeply engaged in promoting anti-racist education and academic success for all students, especially those from marginalized communities. Glenda is also actively involved in community leadership initiatives.
A lifelong learner, Glenda is passionate about empowering others. She brings energy, experience, and a practical approach to every learning environment—helping students grow both personally and professionally. Her personal interests include gardening, African/Black American genealogy, and travel.
