Personal Statement
Andrew Dole is a Professor of Electronics and Information Technology at North Seattle College, where he teaches courses in information technology, cybersecurity, networking, electronics, fiber optics, robotics, and emerging technologies. A faculty member at North since 2010, he brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the classroom, with a professional background spanning computer hardware and software support, network engineering, systems administration, managed services, cybersecurity operations, incident response, technical leadership, and workforce training.
Professor Dole is actively involved in institutional leadership, curriculum development, and advancing cybersecurity education at North Seattle College. He serves on the college’s Curriculum and Academic Standards (CAS) Committee and contributes to the development and modernization of Electronics, Information Technology, Networking, and Cybersecurity programs. His current initiatives include helping lead North Seattle College’s application for designation as a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), supporting the development of the college’s Center for Cybersecurity, and serving as a curriculum and co-project leader for a new hands-on Cyber Range. These projects are designed to expand access to applied cybersecurity education, strengthen industry and community partnerships, and prepare students for high-demand careers through realistic, skills-based learning experiences.
Throughout his career, Professor Dole has focused on connecting education with the evolving needs of the technology workforce. His teaching and program-development work emphasize practical experience, industry certifications, emerging technologies, and clear pathways from the classroom to employment. He is committed to creating accessible and relevant learning opportunities that help students build confidence, develop technical expertise, and succeed in rapidly changing technology and cybersecurity fields.
