Course Description:
This course is the first of a two-quarter series for the survey of anatomy and physiology. This course is to serve as the basis for advanced study of anatomy and physiology for allied health and other clinically related professions. Following completion of this course, students should be able to identify anatomical structures and physiological functions of the different organ systems of the human body. In the first course students will learn about the introductory topics related to anatomy and physiology, histology, skeletal bones and articulations, muscular system, integumentary system, and nervous system.
Virtual laboratory exploration will occur this quarter. Virtual laboratories may include videos, computer simulations and diagrammatic materials to be viewed, completed, and submitted. Laboratory exploration will reinforce physiology concepts by providing critical thinking and problem-solving questions along with real life applications.
Course Prerequisites:
BIOL&160 or BIOL&211 with a 2.0 or higher. CHEM&121 is no longer an acceptable pre-requisite to BIOL&241 as of Spring 2020.
