Personal Statement
Thank you for visiting my Instructor Page!
Faculty: I am happy to support and represent you on the Assessment Committee and as a faculty co-lead for Guided Pathways.
Students:
I am Analea Brauburger, many students call me Miss B, and I have been working at South Seattle College since 2010. I have taught Spanish and Psychology classes and tend to teach mostly online. All of my courses come with FREE textbooks found in the course. You do not need to buy books when you take my classes. This has been a passion of mine since I learned about Open Education Resources (OER).
My training in Psychology started at Arizona State University (ASU) where I earned my B.S. in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Spanish. My B.S. was earned from the Barrett Honors College and my Honors Thesis earned the award for Best Psychology Paper in 1999. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, which means, 'with the highest distinction'.
When I graduated from ASU, I was recruited into a Ph.D. program at The Pennsylvania State University. I attended Penn State from 1999-2002 and earned my M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. My Masters Thesis was published as part of a book chapter in 2001. I left the college before finishing my dissertation and joined the Peace Corps.
While in Peace Corps, Honduras, I built water systems and created a non-profit. Upon return to the United States, I joined AmeriCorps and Teach for America in Southern Louisiana and taught in a High School for four years before moving to Seattle in 2009.
I've been teaching college courses since 1999 and have been teaching online since then, as well. I have a passion for learning and for teaching and hope to have you in my classes soon!
I hope you like the picture I see out of my front window, which is a part of my farm. :-)
