Personal Statement

Hi! I have been teaching Psychology courses here at NSC since 2005. I love my job and the students at my college!

A little about me: my extended family is bicoastal- I was born in New England and lived there until I was 12, then moved to the west coast, where I have stayed. I spent my teen years in Santa Cruz, CA, and attended the University of California, Davis, where I received Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Dramatic Art. I moved to Seattle in 1998 and attended the University of Washington, where I received my Master’s Degree in Cognitive Psychology. While I was in graduate school I specialized in the study of memory, specifically in memory malleability and false memory creation. I taught as an adjunct instructor at Seattle University for a few years and began teaching at North in Fall of 2005. The courses I teach include General Psychology, Lifespan Development, Social Psychology, Research Methods, and the Psychology of Gender. I often teach coordinated courses in the Integrated studies program. In my spare time, I'm a mom to two amazing kids, and I love to read, dance, knit, and grow plants.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about my classes or the Psychology Department.
