Personal Statement
Personal Statement
Hello! I've been a faculty member in the English Department at North Seattle since 2017. I'm passionate about the teaching of writing - I recognize how difficult it is for many students (and myself, at times!) to write papers, so I do my best to teach students writing skills by giving concrete examples, guides, and lots of practice. Before coming to North, I taught writing classes at the University of Washington, Tacoma Community College, Pacific Lutheran University, and King Mongkut's University in Bangkok, Thailand, and I love meeting new, diverse students each quarter. At North, I mostly teach composition classes and technical writing, and I like to incorporate topics related to science fiction, technology, and social relationships whenever possible!
Curriculum Vitae
PhD in English (Language & Rhetoric), University of Washington, 2017; MA in English (Language & Rhetoric), University of Washington, 2012; BA in Linguistics, University of Washington, 2010; AA from Tacoma Community College, 2006.
