For English 101 and 102, students  will read, discuss, and respond to instructor-supplied readings by the writers James Baldwin, June Jordan, Mary Oliver, and Tao Lin. Students will have time to practice brushing up on skills like grammar, punctuation, and writing sentences.  We will write two short personal essays and a final/longer essay on a topic connected to our readings. There’s no textbook purchase for this course. Homework and paper assignments are due at midnight.
